2. In the first paragraph he wrote a lot of opinions on what he thinks about science. He talks about how science is good and it will help us in the long run.
3. "Advances in science are increasingly central to how we experience life, that drives the global economy and how we find reliable evidence to support decisions." This shows his opinion because he said that science is in our everyday life and that is what drives our economy and how to support decisions.
4. He uses the facts about how we discovered Pluto ten years ago and how we found out, "Lucy met an untimely demise 3.2 million years ago." The writer is backing up his opinion with evidence from the scientific break throughs through the years.
5. The author concludes his writing by saying if we reach out to the leaders and tell them about the positives of science, then our lives will be better in the long run. He is saying if we don't keep doing science our life will not have as many breakthroughs as if we did.
