Peer Reflection #1

Part A
1. Micheal Thompson
2. Why Amazon should base their "HQ2" in Austin
3. "But in the long run, for the company and the health of Austin, it'd be the best choice for Amazon "HQ2" to be located in Austin."
4. Yes, the people think that there will be more congestion on roads going to the city. His rebuttal was, "But the thing is that most of the people getting jobs probably already live in Austin, making the congestion terrible still, but not any worse than before."
5. No, Micheal defends his side and never takes the other side of the argument. He made sure not to slide to the other side in his argument.
6. There are no quotes in the story.
7. He wrote this in third person by using the name of the companies
Part B
1. Micheal Thompson
2. Social Media
3. "But is it good for us to have something that has so much influence over the world with just one touch? I don't think so."
4. He states that the world needs social media to get the "breaking news" as fast as we get it now. His rebuttal is, "But there isn't a need for social media to look at the news that should only take a small amount of time."
5. Micheal yet again stays firm with his belief that social media is a con. He addresses the other side without getting reeled into the pro of social media.
6. There are absolutely no quotes.
7. They wrote in 3rd person.
8. This is an editorial piece. For an editorial the writer stays away from the word "you". He did not use "you" once in his writing. Also at the end of an editorial you always try to end with a final punch state your argument. In both of his pieces he had a very powerful ending.
