Many people believe that television violence has a negative effect on society because it promotes violence. Do you agree of disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response.

Television Violence affects society

  When you watch a movie and it has that one really intense fighting scene it makes the movie two times better, right? It can make a movie cooler, but it does promote that type of violence in the real world. In our world we already have a lot of violence and we do not want to accumulate more by making it seem okay to do it. 

  Little kids could be watching a show when someone gets shot or someone hurts another on purpose. When kids are younger the things you do around them or watch around them rubs of on them. If you are watching that new avengers movie and your child is too it can show them that violence is okay. They think just because he/she did it in the movie means it okay for them to do it too.  

   In most superhero movies the bad guy does something that hurts or upsets the superhero. That then gives the superhero a motive to kill the bad guy. That is how all superhero shows and movies go. Others might be in a tough situation and they can relate it to a movie and go over and beyond and hurt someone extremely bad. 

  Whenever a Star Wars movie comes out it gets way more people to go see it than a Disney movie about kindness and respecting others. Star Wars appeals to more people because it is a cool space story about defeating the dark side. Also in Star Wars they have some cool powers, guns, and lightsabers that can kill people. Darth Vader can kill someone by choking them without even touching them. 

  Many might believe that people don't actually take those movies seriously. On the contrary, many people have a collection of things from movies and they can consist of the gun that their favorite super villain uses and more. Also there are some fans that get so into the movie that they think that they could have some superpowers. Those people then think they are "above the law" because they have super powers just like their favorite character. 

  Overall our world is already violent, we can't even get through a week without a crime being committed somewhere. To add a lot of violence to movies is just hurting our society even more. We should use less violence in movies to make sure that we don't influence the younger generations behind us that it is okay to hurt people.
