Photography Composition

Symmetry and Patterns:
The two twin towers are perfectly next to each other while they burn and fall apart. The lines on the buildings create symmetry between them.
Viewpoint:
We are seeing how others found out about 9/11, and it is in a viewpoint as a car on the highway heading into NYC on this tragic day.
Simplicity:
This is a simple photo of someone who flew the first plane into the towers. There is nothing to distract you from the main point in the picture.

Lines:
Pieces of the building are falling off and the bottom of the building guides you to the center of the photo. There are also diagonal lines falling from the building which make the photo dynamic.
Avoiding Mergers:
This is showing the reaction of a women who is seeing the twin towers burning. The city in the background takes away from her reaction to what is going on.
The Rule of Thirds:
The plane is in the bottom left third and the buildings are in the bottom right third. They are spaced perfectly to bring this photo from just a regular picture to even better. These types of photos attract the eye.

Cropping:
This shows someone being overtaken by emotions while 9/11 is happening. They cropped it to just show the two people's faces. This shows how people reacted to what was happening in NYC.
Create Depth:
You first look at the statue of liberty and then you look at the smoke and the city in the background. This creates depth in the picture other than just the statue of liberty by itself.
