Car Raid

1. Who will your do your car raid with (who is your subject)?
I will do my mom.
2. When will you do this car raid?

I will do this over the weekend or next weekend.
3. Write 4-6 questions you can use to start this interview?

-Why do you have so many extra supplies in your car?
-Why do you have blankets in the back of your car?
-Who do you mostly drive around with in this car?
-Where do you usually go with this car?
-How long have you had this car?
-Why did you pick this car specifically?
4. What kind of details should your expect to write down to help advance the story line?

I should write down what is found in the trunk and what is found in the pocket in front of the passenger's seat.
Here are some notes to help you get started:

Step 1: Name of person you are interviewing and his or her relationship to you.

Step 2:  Make and model of the vehicle

Step 3:  Write down all observations you have about the car you are investigating. (Example: dirty, has dice hanging from mirror, etc.)

Step 4: Write several closed-ended questions about the person you are interviewing. (Examples: age, where s/he was born, occupation, etc.) Then write the answers.

Step 5: Write several open-ended questions about the owner of this vehicle that stem from what you observe about the car. (Examples: Why did you buy a Chrysler Sebring? Why are there McDonald’s fries all over your backseat? Etc.) Don’t forget follow-up questions too. (Example: Do you eat fast food often? Why? Do you have a hectic schedule? What do you do to stay in shape? Etc.)

Extra Credit: If you wish, you can submit a photograph for your story for extra credit on this assignment (4-7 points depending on my judgment of the quality of the photo and caption). Put the photo on your blog with the story.

Since it is a feature story, you can use present tense but use “said” with actual quotes.
